Kutty story #61

World moves on without you:

There lived a teacher in a small village. He had a wife, a son who was doing his higher studies and daughter who was ready to get married. He was living a contented life when a thought came to his mind that totally disturbed his peaceful existence.

He suddenly thought that he was the reason the whole family was happy. He felt that things wouldn’t be the same for them in his absence. This thought bred in him and over a few days turned into an ego in himself.

One day when he was introspecting himself as a teacher he realized that he had become egoistic but it was already late as the ego had got the better of him already. At around the same time, a yogi arrived in the village and coincidentally he was speaking about controlling ones egos and vices. The yogi said that the world remains the same although many have come and left before this and continue to do so. After the talk, the teacher approached the yogi and confesses to him that hes already suffering with ego.

The yogi advised him to go away from the village for about 2 years without telling anybody about his whereabouts. The teacher did the same. He just went home, took some money and left without saying a word. When the entire village was searching for the teacher, the yogi told them that a tiger has killed a villager and he visualizes the dead to be a teacher. Everybody felt upset, the family broke down and were consoled by the other villagers.

Life goes on…the son finished his studies and got into a government job, the daughter got married to a gentleman with the help of all villagers. The family continued to live normally. The teacher now returned after 2 years to find the house full of happiness.

This is when he realized it the hard way that life still will go on no matter what.  And that ended his ego.

He apologized to his family and told them all the truth.

Remember, Luck is important in life, so also hardwork. For success you must have good karma which are the true blessings which we get only with good actions.

2.     Mother's Love It was a hot summer day. There was a chemist along with his assistant doing brisk trade under the mid-noon hot sun. The pharmacist noticed an old woman across the road, staring at the shop for a long time. The shopkeeper suggested to the assistant to take care of the customers in the line and he went to check on the old lady.  The chemist crossed the road and approached her and asked her “why you are standing here alone, do you need any help from me”. The lady said she was fine. She had a son who lives in the city with his wife and three children. He and his family came and visited her every summer but this time he called her up last night and said he is going to a hill station with his family so he will not be visiting her this summer. He might come next summer. Saying this, her wrinkled grey eyes shed tears of pain out of a broken heart.  The shopkeeper was muted for a moment and he had no words for her. The mother held h...

The life each wished for Once there lived two farmers in a village. The farmers were friends and they worked really hard. They, more or less had the same share of land in the village and eventually with time, both of them died in the same period.  After their death both the farmers were in their after life. God asked both the farmers the same question. The first farmer was asked: how was his life and how could have God made it better for him. The farmer was so annoyed and disgraced with all the hardship he had in his life. The farmer said he had no luxury, he and his family barely had anything to enjoy. They struggled to manage each day. God kept quiet and asked the farmer what he wanted to become in his next life. The farmer wished to be someone who is unquestioned and who people gave money to. God blessed him and granted his desire.  God approached the other farmer with the same question. The farmer said he was really glad with the life God had given him. The farmer thanked ...

Strong roots Sangeetha and her husband were staying in a housing colony. Next doors to them lived an old man. Everyone addressed him as grandpa. One day a man who sold plants was in the colony. Sangeetha and the grandpa bought the same plant and planted it in their yard. Sangeetha had her education in agriculture and knew everything about the plant. Sangeetha watered the plant and used the right fertilizers and pesticides for her plant and she was so prompt with her schedule. After days both the plants were easily distinguishable. Sangeetha's plant was so green and flourished beautifully. Grandpa's plant was barely anything.  One evening, thunder and storm rampaged the area, everyone and everything was affected. The whole night heavy wind blew. The next morning grandpa and Sangeetha came out to check their plants. Sangeetha's plant was totally damaged, even the last strand of root was pulled out of the soil by the wind. Grandpa's plant on the other hand was just bent, n...
