The Teacher
It was a classroom for the fifth graders, the classteacher was Divya. Every other day when the teacher stepped into the class she said “I love you all” but she didn't mean that because there was a boy in the class by name Raju.
Divya mam never liked the boy, his scores were so poor he couldn't even answer a single question in the class. After the mid-term exams the teacher prepared the progress card for all the students and a briefing about their individual performances in the class.
Raju's progress didn’t have a single positive word on it, as he had scored nothing but failure in all the subjects. The progress cards were supposed to be checked and signed by the principal before it was sent to the parents. The principal noticed the progress card of Raju reflecting nothing in progress. The principal called upon the class teacher Divya. She explained how she was fed up with the boy and she had nothing in favor of the boy.
The next morning, the principal arranged for the previous class records of the boy and summoned Divya. Divya was so confident that Raju couldn't be any better in the past as well. Divya slowly went through Raju's reports from his previous grades.
As a third grader Raju was the topper of his class!! Moving to the fourth grade the comments on the progress card reflected that Raju's mother was sick, further Raju's mother was detected with chronic cancer, Raju's mother passed away and suddenly Raju downgraded from the topper of the class to the bottom liner. Divya couldn't hold back her tears. She felt sorry for her actions.
Divya went to the class that day. Asusual she said “I love you all” but even this time she didnt mean what she said because, this time, all her attention and love was only for Raju. Divya asked a question and when Raju couldn't answer it, she called him to her and explained him the answer and asked Raju to repeat the answer to the class. Divya invested great effort on Raju and brought him back to his true potential.
By the end of the fifth grade Raju became Divya's favorite student and Divya Raju's favorite teacher. Before the school closed for summer vacation all the students bought gifts for Divya as she was their classteacher. Among the gifts, there was one, wrapped with an old wrapping paper. Everyone knew it was Raju's gift. Divya opened the gift and found an old bangle and half filled perfume bottle. Raju told Divya that those belonged to his mother and she is no more but he found his mother in her now.
Years passed Raju turned out to be a successful young man, but he has never seized contacting his teacher. Raju sent an invitation along with a flight ticket for his teacher to attend his marriage. Raju was so adamant that he will not tie the knot till his teacher arrived. All the guests from the bride's side as well as the groom's side were curious to know who this person was and why she is so important.
Finally when Divya arrived, Raju proudly introduced her as his Mother!!!!

A teacher is not just someone who teaches us but somebody who is capable of finding and bringing out our true potential
