Dont evaluate yourself from others' point of view

Ramu was a troubled young man. Ramu always doubted himself and he often fell victim to others' ill opinions about his actions.
One day an acquaintance of him told him about a saint who has arrived in the villlage and the saint might be able to help him in not getting hurt any more. Ramu walked up to to the saint seeking his wisdom. The saint took a moment and handed over the young man a ring with a stone on it and asked him to find the value of it.
Ramu was perturbed, nevertheless, he took the ring to a gold smith around the corner. The gold smith told him the estimated value of the ring. Ramu returned to the saint and told the price offered by the gold smith.
He was then guided by the saint to find its value at a jewellery shop in the town. The Jewellery store offered him a price which was quite higher than what he was offered by the gold smith. Ramu returned to the saint with the quote.
Ramu was then guided by the saint about an expert who evaluates the gold with its purity and age. Here, Ramu was offered a lumpsum for the same ring. Ramu rushed to the saint with that figure.
The saint now told the young man about a diamond merchant who is in the town and sent Ramu to evaluate the ring. On seeing the ring, the merchant said he stands no chance to fix a price for the ring for the stone it has is so worthy and rare!
The young man now impatiently returned to the saint and asked him how the value of the ring can help him in his concern.
The wise man said " The price of the ring varied from person to person depending on how he looked at it and how he evaluated it, although, the ring remained the same at all circumstances. The same goes for the opinion of people about you. Never doubt yourself;  for the right person you are worthy of everything.

2.     Mother's Love It was a hot summer day. There was a chemist along with his assistant doing brisk trade under the mid-noon hot sun. The pharmacist noticed an old woman across the road, staring at the shop for a long time. The shopkeeper suggested to the assistant to take care of the customers in the line and he went to check on the old lady.  The chemist crossed the road and approached her and asked her “why you are standing here alone, do you need any help from me”. The lady said she was fine. She had a son who lives in the city with his wife and three children. He and his family came and visited her every summer but this time he called her up last night and said he is going to a hill station with his family so he will not be visiting her this summer. He might come next summer. Saying this, her wrinkled grey eyes shed tears of pain out of a broken heart.  The shopkeeper was muted for a moment and he had no words for her. The mother held h...

The life each wished for Once there lived two farmers in a village. The farmers were friends and they worked really hard. They, more or less had the same share of land in the village and eventually with time, both of them died in the same period.  After their death both the farmers were in their after life. God asked both the farmers the same question. The first farmer was asked: how was his life and how could have God made it better for him. The farmer was so annoyed and disgraced with all the hardship he had in his life. The farmer said he had no luxury, he and his family barely had anything to enjoy. They struggled to manage each day. God kept quiet and asked the farmer what he wanted to become in his next life. The farmer wished to be someone who is unquestioned and who people gave money to. God blessed him and granted his desire.  God approached the other farmer with the same question. The farmer said he was really glad with the life God had given him. The farmer thanked ...

Strong roots Sangeetha and her husband were staying in a housing colony. Next doors to them lived an old man. Everyone addressed him as grandpa. One day a man who sold plants was in the colony. Sangeetha and the grandpa bought the same plant and planted it in their yard. Sangeetha had her education in agriculture and knew everything about the plant. Sangeetha watered the plant and used the right fertilizers and pesticides for her plant and she was so prompt with her schedule. After days both the plants were easily distinguishable. Sangeetha's plant was so green and flourished beautifully. Grandpa's plant was barely anything.  One evening, thunder and storm rampaged the area, everyone and everything was affected. The whole night heavy wind blew. The next morning grandpa and Sangeetha came out to check their plants. Sangeetha's plant was totally damaged, even the last strand of root was pulled out of the soil by the wind. Grandpa's plant on the other hand was just bent, n...
