God swapped a day with a templeboy..
Long ago, there was a boy who worked in a temple as a helper. Everyday he cleaned the deity , the sanctum and sanctorum.
He was always amused at how God always was limited to only the Sanctum and he thought that it must be much fun and easy to be so.
One day, in his ignorance, he negotiated and managed to have God agree for a swap between them for a day. God told the boy only one thing - "whoever comes to the temple, whatever the person says, you must not speak, you must not do anything". The boy agreed and so the swap happened.
As agreed, the boy took the place of God and stood there as the statue. A devotee came and thanked god for all the wealth God had bestowed him. Also the devotee sought blessings for the new business he was about to start as a factory. After thanking God, he bowed in front of the sanctum and took a leave, but he forgot his wallet at the sanctum. The boy wanted to tell him that his wallet was left behind but he suddenly recollects the only thing God has asked him to do.
A second devotee came and complained to God about his miserable life as he doesn't have any fortune. He too, bowed at the sanctum and to his surprise, he found ta wallet lying there. He became so happy and thanked god. The boy wanted to tell him not to take that wallet but his promise to God forbid him from doing so. The second devotee left with the wallet of the first.
A third devotee came and he prayed for his protection as he is a merchant navy employee and he is about to set off for his new voyage of 30 days. The first devotee suddenly showed up at the temple with cops and on seeing the third devotee near the sanctum and nobody else around, they suspected him to be the thief who took the wallet of the first devotee. The third person couldn't convince the cops about his innocence.
At this instant, the boy lost all his patience, addressed them all and clarified how the wallet is with the second person. He said that the one who is handcuffed is innocent. All of them were astonished to hear it all straight from God himself. They went ahead and found the poor person who thought the wallet was God's gift to him. The boy felt relieved because he thought he did the right thing.
God returned by evening and the boy told him how happy he is for what he did, to which God explained to the boy how he had ruined everything.
The first devotee had done so many wrong things to pursue the wealth - by losing the wallet with all that money, his evil karma would have reduced by a small fraction.
The second devotee on the other hand is a good man whose actions are for the welfare of others.
The third devotee was about to start a voyage with around 30 men in the ship and the in the sea they were supposed to have encountered a hurricane, the ship would have wrecked and all of them would die. But now, since the man was arrested by the cops it would have saved all those lives and eventually the man will be freed without any harm.
The boy's action had ruined all the plans of God. The same is the case with us when we weep on the smaller loss without seeing the bigger picture.
Trust God for his plans, we must have faith in him. The small losses or the bad times are not permanent; trust that he has some great plans for us ahead!!
