KUTTY STORY12

Value of a penny

There was a young boy named Saumitran. He was an extravagant. Saumitran's father was tired of his habits and wanted to fix the situation.
Saumitran's spendthrift ways didnt suit his family's income and financial status. His family made their bread and butter out of baking business.
One day, as usual, the boy asked money from his father to which his father advised him against spending too much. Saumitran was offended by his father's words. The father thought for a while and told Saumitran, " All i want you to do is to bring me one rupee at the end of the day, everyday."Saumitran was a bit intrigued but he agreed as he believed that 1 rupee a day is not a big thing.
Day one, Saumitran forgot to bring his father the money. However, when his father asked him for the money, he borrowed the one rupee from his mother and give it to his father. The next day he borrowed the money from his brother, then sister and the following days he borrowed from relatives and neighbors and each day when the boy gave the father the coin, the father threw it in the oven.
Saumitran really didn't care about why his father threw the coin in the oven. Saumitran continued to give his father one rupee by borrowing, but eventually when it was a regular affair, people around stopped lending money to Saumitran.
One fine day Saumitran couldnt manage to get the one rupee and he was thinking of ways and means to get it. Just then, he saw an old man pulling a rickshaw although he was tired, Saumitran walked up to the man and offered him to pull the rickshaw for him, if the man can pay him one rupee. The old man felt happy and agreed. Saumitran started to pull the rickshaw and it was really hard... harder than he thought.
Finally, when they reached the destination the old man paid Saumitran one rupee. The boy now took the money to his father and as usual, the father was about to throw it into the oven, when Saumitran stopped his father.
He held his father's hand and said "Don't throw this coin into the oven its my hard earned money."
The father was happy from within and explained to the son the difference in how he reacted for the last one month when somebody elses money was thrown into the oven and how it pained at the thought of throwing his hard-earned one rupee into the oven.
Saumitran realised the reason behind the one rupee demand from his father and apologized to his father for his mistakes.
Like they say...a penny saved is a penny earned.
Never spend money before you earn it!!

World moves on without you: There lived a teacher in a small village. He had a wife, a son who was doing his higher studies and daughter who was ready to get married. He was living a contented life when a thought came to his mind that totally disturbed his peaceful existence.  He suddenly thought that he was the reason the whole family was happy. He felt that things wouldn’t be the same for them in his absence. This thought bred in him and over a few days turned into an ego in himself. One day when he was introspecting himself as a teacher he realized that he had become egoistic but it was already late as the ego had got the better of him already. At around the same time, a yogi arrived in the village and coincidentally he was speaking about controlling ones egos and vices. The yogi said that the world remains the same although many have come and left before this and continue to do so. After the talk, the teacher approached the yogi and confesses to him that hes already suffering w...
