Ritual Once a Sadhu finished meditation and got up to find a wounded kitten. As he was a very kind man, he took the kitten to his ashram and started taking care of it. So one day, the Sadhu asked one of his followers to tie the kitten to the tree in front of the ashram. The disciple did so without a question. In some time it became a practice that whenever the sadhu started to meditate, the kitten will be tied to the tree. After some time, the Sadhu passed away. The senior-most monk who now became the sadhu, continued to tie the kitten to the tree while he was meditating. The practice continued.
